The deadline for the 2015 IRTS Summer Fellowship Program is approaching. Eligible students have the chance to participate in an exciting media industry internship in New York City that includes travel, accommodations and an allowance!

Students selected for this highly competitive program learn about opportunities throughout the media industry, in addition to interning at a specific company where skills are matched to a corresponding area of our business. Accomplished students from all majors (including math, liberal arts, computer science, business, marketing, communications, etc.) are encouraged to apply.

The IRTS Summer Fellowship Program has had a key role in launching the careers of top professionals in the media business for more than 40 years.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM DETAILS
The Summer Fellowship Program is the cornerstone program of the IRTS Foundation. Often referred to as a “media boot camp,” this highly selective program teaches a talented group of up-and-coming communicators the realities of the business world through an all-expense-paid internship in New York City, which includes practical experience and career-planning advice.

Those selected for the Fellowship receive:
Round trip travel to and from NYC. (air, train, or driving mileage reimbursement)
Housing at a downtown Manhattan university dormitory in a shared suite setting.
A living allowance to defray cost of food and personal expenses.
A full-time internship at a top New York media company that aligns with a student’s interests and career goals.
Weekly events including panel discussions, company visits and speakers.
The IRTS Foundation also provides extensive career counseling and networking opportunities to ensure that each student makes the most of this New York experience!

GUIDELINES FOR 2016 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Apply Today for FTF 2016 College Scholarship Application

Thank you for your interest in our scholarship program. Footsteps To Follow, Inc. Is a non profit organization which provides career guidance to youth who are minority or reside in underserved communities. Applicants are encouraged to apply upon receipt of the application, Please read the following guidelines and eligibility requirements carefully.

1. Applicant must be a high school senior or college freshman who will be attending an accredited two or four-year college or university in the Fall as a full-time student.
2. Applicant must be a resident of of New York State or Northern New Jersey.
3. Include an essay of 500 words or less answering the following question: Identify a person that you admire, and state why you admire that person.  The essay must be typewritten and include student’s name.
4. Include a statement of no more than two paragraphs about yourself, including your hobbies and organizations which you are affiliated with including any community, religious, school or political organization.
5. Include a list of all the colleges to which you have applied, have been accepted or are currently attending (Attach an extra sheet, if necessary).
6. Attach a description of your community service experience.
7. Two written references from non-relatives must accompany your application. (All letters of recommendation must be provided on organization letterhead orhave a return address and must be signed and include the writer’s title and phone number.)
8. Include a copy of high school or college transcript.
9. Include a copy of your SAT scores.
10. Applicants Must Be Available For An Interview Upon Request.
